Intergraf’s annual Economic Report, The Evolution of the European Graphic Industry, provides extensive economic information about the European graphic industry. It shows historical developments and comparisons between countries. It provides general information on the profile of the European graphic industry, as well as data on the production of printed products and trade with key international trade partners. Plus, it gives highlights about the economic development of sectors which are relevant to the graphic industry – including paper, ink, press, energy, and postal markets. The Report features the contributions of Intergraf members on selected national market developments as well as the contribution from our partner research institute Smithers with forecasts to 2029.

The report is free for Intergraf’s members and for sale for non-members. It can be requested using these forms for Members and Non-Members .


The European graphical sector is made up of some 100,000 printing companies (95% SMEs), which employ 600,000 people, and generate a combined turnover of €80 billion (EU27 + UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland).

Intergraf (www.intergraf.eu) is the European printing  industry association, representing employers in the graphical sector. We are a Brussels-based umbrella federation with 22 members from 21 countries and 14 Associate Members from across Europe. Our primary goal is to represent and advocate for Europe’s printing industry, working with European Union to support the sector’s competitiveness through advocacy, information-sharing, networking, social dialogue, and European projects.
